What Captains Say About Crew Pacific's Recruitment Services

Dear Joy

I would like to take the time to thank you so much for all the wonderful work and help you have given me over the last year in the placement of crew aboard “’M.Y MOON SAND”.

It was nice to know there is a crew agency in this industry that is more than just a crew agency and that the thoughts and requirements of the captain are taken into consideration when crew placement is required.

Once again thank you for your help and your friendly personal service.

Andiamo has been using the services of Crew Pacific for the last two years, whilst we have been cruising in the South Pacific.

We have used Crew Pacific to employ both temporary and permanent crew.

Joy Weston and her staff have always been quick and efficient in finding candidates. They obviously have a large database of qualified individuals.

Joy and her team have always been a pleasure to work with and have always been very professional in their dealings with us.

Based on our past relationship, we will continue to use Crew Pacific during our future travels.

I have been working closely with Joy Weston of Crew Pacific since December of 2007 until present searching for crew on the yacht Ke Ama II, a luxury 80ft. Graham Radford designed vessel.  Joy has provided me with several candidates, and has taken every precaution to send me applicants who possess the qualifications and experience for the job requirements we have outlined for her.

If, in the future, we need further crew placement needs, I will of course contact Ms. Weston without hesitation as she has proven her professionalism to me and I have a great deal of confidence and faith in her.

To achieve the best results with in this industry there is nothing more important than providing the best service available. Being a captain in the Super-yacht industry the key rule is to provide the best well established crew available. Every owner wants to feel their service is second to none and the more diverse the crew skills are the more results I achieve as a captain.

This brings me onto Crew Pacific, ran by Joy Weston and also knowing some of her staff from abroad they have offered to Australia the ability for a Captain/Owner to feel that when a vessel travels so far away from the usual hubs and support networks, that there will be at all times the back up of well trained crew. Crew Pacific personally trains their Stewardesses/Stewards and their interview process allows for a simple phone call knowing the best results per the owners requirements will be meet.I have been involved with Crew Pacific since my return to Australia over 3 years ago and personally visited her training facility, after this I have constantly passed on her services to captains abroad and have guided crew wanting to start within the industry on to Crew Pacific.

Crew Pacific provides the best results to young people looking for a start in a well documented industry struggling for well trained personal. I could not imagine looking for crew within Australia to provide the standard required without the help of Crew Pacific. Interviews from abroad with no knowledge of training achieved and no personal contact would only result into high crew turn over which in turn would reflect on the whole crew structure.

Crew Pacific take this worry away from us and also they are moving forward in training, I can only wish them the best result and will look forward to work closely with them for a long time ahead.

During this time I have found that joy has gone beyond the normal to give the best service possible for all parties and in some cases even for those that she has not been directly connect with. So I’m very happy to give my support and any assistance I can supply at any time to help promote Crew Pacific in growing the business.

What Stewards and Stewardesses Say About Crew Pacific's Training Courses

Hi Joy,

As you know I have been very busy joining with the agencies here on the Island and at each I have been met with such lovely and positive comments on how organised I am, how my C.V. looks great and how well presented I have come in to the office! It makes it so much easier, being met with such positivity, to join these agencies and connect with the agents. I feel that it definitely leaves them with a good feeling and impression of me and I leave the office feeling great!

I just wanted to say that I'm soooooooo glad I did your course Joy and to say thank you very much for all your help and advice.

Consequently I have already been put forward for two positions this week!! I will let you know how it goes. Once again thank you

Warmest Regards,
Romola Young

Dear Joy,

Just an email to thank you so much for what you taught me during the 8 day super yacht Stewardess training course.

I arrived in Antibes, there were so many people from so many countries all looking for work. I could hardly find a crew house with availability! The docks were full of dock-walkers every morning, the agencies had line ups at their doors. I applied on line to agencies and straight away was invited for interviews with them, they were so impressed to see I had a stewardess course, and especially 8 days! There is a course here but its only 2 days. I don’t know how you could learn everything I did in just 2 days!

I met people that had been here 8 weeks without 1 interview, after 7 days I had 3 interviews, a four day trial, and after 2 weeks I got employed!! I am working as Deck/Stew, I’m the only stew on board. I keep your manual beside my bed!! It helps me a lot and being the only stew I don’t have anyone to ask about what to do, so emailing you and reading your manual is my bible!

Because of the economy, it’s really hard to get work, and stewardesses with no course is pretty much impossible! I’m so glad I had this course, otherwise I don’t think I would be employed now!

I want to thank you again for all your help. I’m so happy on this yacht!

Kind Regards,
Tiffanie Ward

TESTIMONIAL FROM A CHIEF STEWARDESS ABOUT WHY SHE EMPLOYS CREW PACIFIC’S STEWARD/ESS AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDS THE STEWARDESS COURSE TO GREENIES STARTING OUT IN THE INTERNATIONAL SUPER YACHT INDUSTRY:

Dear Joy,

I am the Chief Stewardess of a 58m new build yacht currently located in the USA, and I’m emailing you in reference to the Crew Pacific Stewardess course.

Although I have never had the opportunity to part-take in the course, I have to admit, for ‘green’ stewardess, I do think the course is a fantastic introduction into the yachting industry.

It is not always possible for the Chief Stewardess to provide fully comprehensive 'on the job training', especially in circumstances like mine, being the Chief Stewardess of a large new build yacht.

The course gives potential stewardesses the skills and knowledge required within the yachting industry to fully understand their positions, what is expected of stewardesses, the challenges that lie ahead, and most importantly prepares them for the yachting industry.

I have been fortunate enough to employ several girls who have successfully completed the stewardess training course, and I must admit, what a joy it was to have them as part of my interior team.

When looking to employ a new stewardess I have to say, I would always chose a ‘green’ stewardess who has completed the Crew Pacific training course over a stewardess with a seasons experience.

Fortunately, my current captain also sees the benefit in having ‘trained’ stewardesses, so much so in fact, that our yacht would like to pay for our junior stewardess to part take in the course.

Thank you so much Joy and Crew Pacific. You make my job so much easier.

Best Regards,
Jeszell Gooch

After the first day of the Crew Pacific Stewardess course all I could say was oh my God!!!!
Joy filled our heads with information from everything to international customs to folding diamonds on toilet paper! We were folding napkins, tying knots, wine appreciation, meeting Captains, practicing silver service,  and setting tables.

As you can gather the course is very hands on and a lot of fun! Joy really knows this industry well!!! The course is set out over eight days and involves all the basics of the Super Yacht industry.  I travelled up from Sydney not knowing anything about Super Yachts. I didn’t even know you could work on them let alone begin a career. So to begin with it was all very daunting, but eight exciting days later I feel I now have that extra knowledge behind me to start in this industry.  Although another five days later and Joy has already found me a job on a 52m sailing yacht and all of sudden I’m flying to Singapore! So,  two and half weeks later I went from thinking I might get a job in a month or so to flying out the day after my courses have finished!

I couldn’t tell you enough how worthwhile the stewardess course has been. I have learnt so much from Joy and even scored a job before I could blink an eye!!!!

It all started from a Google search, to a few super yacht magazines, some industry books, than to an information evening, it was not long until I was booked into the highly anticipated Crew Pacific 8 day Stewardess Course.  From my first phone call, Joy Weston has been more then helpful answering my million what if, how do I, when can I, questions.
Crew Pacific get to know you, what you want, where you want to go, how to get out there and what not to do along the way. I am armed with so much knowledge the 'bible book' we call it.

Just how quickly I advanced and how much I learnt from having done the Stewardess Course is mind blowing. It is only now that I can confidently say I am ready for the wonderful world of Super Yachts.

This is now the start of something big and I know I will always have a support network with my agent, Joy Weston!!!!

This is a letter to state that Joy Western of Crew Pacific has taught me in the 2 week Steward/ess training course. I have found her to be extremely professional in her teaching and the course was so valuable to me as I went on to pursue a career in the Super Yacht Industry.

Joy not only gave me the confidence to move forward but she also placed me in my first position as a temporary stewardess in the Med, which then gave me the experience and contacts to move up the ranks to new positions.

Joy has remained a close contact over the past three years and has always been on hand to lend any advice, I would highly recommend her for an award to recognise her efforts within the super yacht industry and wish her every success in the future.

My introduction to the "big white boats" was first in France a year ago, like everybody the amazement and wow factor initially, how could I ever dream of working on board. There must be a way.....

So an internet search on return to Australia led me to the introduction of Crew Pacific located in Cairns, Australia's only crew house it was here that I found Crew Pacific's Managing Director Joy Weston.

Of course anyone that has had the pleasure of knowing Joy, my first five minutes of talking to her I was introduced and motivated to thinking that it is possible to achieve employment. "Joy is passionate about her business" and willing to share her wealth of knowledge.

So enrolling in Crew Pacific's eight day super yacht stewardess training course provided in depth information about what to expect. Little did I think that I would end up in a florist making my own floral arrangements, or at the Cairns Airport making coffee. Joy provided us with eight days of solid education covering silver service, wine appreciation, laundry service, visa/interviewing process, resume set/up and much more. I have to say "Crew Pacific" has done a lot for me so far, over the last few months Joy has guided and helped  me prepare for the industry. I am now confident and educated ready to seek employment.

Joy Weston & Crew Pacific, a powerful dynamic service that I would recommend to anyone all the best Joy!!

Hi Joy,
I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you have done to help me establish myself within this industry.Without your unconditional help, knowledge, advice and expertise within this industry, there is no way that I would have managed to obtain a job within 2 day's of arriving in Fort Lauderdale....and not just day work....this is a full time gig around the Bahama's! The Head Stewardess was absolutely blown away with my CV - helped by you - and was impressed with the courses that I had taken - including yours - and the level of detail in my notes - that were provided in your course! She hired me on the spot knowing that I had never worked on a yacht before. There is no way that I would have fallen into this career/industry so easily if it wasn't for you / Crew Pacific. If there is anyone out there who wants me to provide more reasons as to why they should take your course, send them this email.

Again, I can't thank you enough!
