What do the stewardess courses cover?

Welcome to Crew Pacific's ‘Internationally recognized Eight-day and Five-Day Super Yacht Steward and Stewardess’ training course. The Eight-day and Five-day courses have been specifically designed and tailored to the Super yacht industry. The courses are ‘Internationally’ recognised by Seven International crewing agencies around the world, including Crew Pacific, which will assist you into full-time employment.

The courses are aimed at those with knowledge and experience within the Hospitality and Customer Service Industry, who would like to advance their skills into the Super Yacht Industry. Crew Pacific's aim is to enhance the skills already achieved within the Hospitality and Customer Service Industry and to adapt those skills across to shipboard life.

Crew Pacific also caters to those with no previous maritime or land hospitality experience looking for an exciting and rewarding career change.

Students will be provided with a comprehensive manual at the start of the course and then obtain a Certificate of Competency once the course is completed.

Crew Pacific conducts the Eight Day and Five Day Super yacht Stewardess Training in Cairns and the Gold Coast, Australia.

The course prices are as follows for the Eight Day Super Yacht Stewardess training 2009

  • The Steward/ess course is $1795.00AUD in Cairns
  • The Steward/ess course is $1795.00AUD in Gold Coast

The course prices are as follows for the Five Day Super Yacht Stewardess training 2009

  • The Steward/ess course is $1000.00AUD in Cairns
  • The Steward/ess course is $1000.00AUD in Gold Coast

If during the Five Day course you decide to continue on with the Eight Day course, you will need to provide Crew Pacific with 72 hours notice as well as a further payment of $850.00AUD (this includes the cost of the replacement training manual that you will receive). This request is to allow Crew Pacific time to arrange for new manuals to be printed.

Pre Requisites for Applicants

Hospitality Experience/Certificates, Senior First Aid, and (STCW95) either AMSA OR MCA ENDORSED.

The course provides advanced training in the necessary skills required to carry out your duties within the shipboard environment.

What does the Two Day Super Yacht Induction course cover?

This course prepares you for the International Super Yacht Industry and gives you an understanding of the Super Yacht Industry as a whole. This course is beneficial to students that are looking at heading overseas to obtain work on luxury super yachts.

THE TWO DAY INDUCTION COURSE COSTS $195.00AUD. Students will be provided with a comprehensive manual at the start of the course.

If you are unable to attend the two day course you can purchase the two day Induction manual for $165.00AUD including postage. If you require any consultancy assistance we can offer this at an hourly price of $25.00AUD per hour.   • How international Crewing agents work overseas?
  • What is a STCW95 ticket?
  • What is an MCA ENG1 medical and How do I obtain it?
  • What is an AMSA Medical and How do I obtain it?
  • Crewing agencies/accommodation overseas
  • Yacht crew structure and ranks.
  • Planning and designing a resume that is specific to the international super yacht industry.
  • Preparing for an interview as well as what questions you should be asking when you obtain an interview - either “Face to Face” or over the phone.
  • Recommend dress appearance for an interview in this industry.
  • What is a Private yacht?
  • What is a Charter yacht?

  • What is a Captain and the responsibilities of a Captain?

What does STCW95 mean and How can I Obtain this certification?

“This is a basic Certificate of Safety Training for Seafarers”. This is an International standard arising from the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and has the force of law in all the signatory countries. This was implicated on January 1 1996, with full compliance to be achieved by February 1 2002. The convention gives the minimum standards of qualifications required by all crew at various levels depending upon vessel size. All crew involved in any safety or muster must complete this one week course.

The course covers:

  • Personal Survival Techniques Section A-VI/1-1
  • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility Section A-V1/1-4,
  • Basic Fire prevention & fire fighting Section A-V1/1-2

Elementary (Senior) First Aid Section A-Vl/1-3 is not covered in the TNQTAFE course and must be completed prior to enrolment with any first aid provider.

If you are attending the Steward/ess course, STCW95 or any other Maritime training courses in Cairns and need accommodation during your training, Crew Pacific provides a Crew House; this is accommodation for yacht crew looking for work or training.
