How to Register with Crew Pacific

Before Crew Pacific can assist you into full-time employment we do require that you follow our resume requirements.
Please understand that our clients request this information when they use our services looking for crew, so your co-operation is much appreciated
You will need to e-mail your Resume, Written references and Menu Plans to info@crewpacific.com.au or crew@crewpacific.com.au

Please take note of these resume pointers, which will help you to improve your resume for the industry:

  1. Your resume is required to be no more than 2-3 pages long and 250kbs in size. This is due to sitcom charges when downloading documents on a yacht computer.
  2. Ensure your resume is saved into a word document not a PDF file.
  3. Personal Details we need to see on your Resume: date of birth, nationality, passport number, International phone codes, E-mail address, Current Location, If you hold a B1/B2 visa we need to see how long it is valid for? ENG1 MCA Medical or AMSA Medical we need to see validation date, Languages, and Marital Status.
  4. On your resume you are required to have a passport photo. This needs to be scanned and saved into a JPEG format and no larger than 25kbs in size. You must not be wearing hats, shades or bikinis. You need to present yourself well as “First Impressions are important”. If you are using a digital camera you need to ensure you get your pixels down in size to at least 25kbs in size.
  5. Maritime Qualifications: You are required to have dates of when you completed your courses and where. If the course are MCA endorsed or AMSA endorsed please state this on your resume
  6. Maritime Experience: You are required to add location, start date with month and year and finish date with month and year. The position you held on board the yacht and duties you completed throughout the day.
  7. Other Work Experience: Same as above.
  8. Crew Pacific requires THREE REFEREES ON YOUR RESUME with Persons name, phone numbers (ensure phone numbers have international codes) and e-mail addresses. E-mail addresses are a must as we do contact these referees with a reference letter.
    Referees are: One of your previous employers whom is happy for us to contact either by phone or e-mail for a verbal or written reference check on you.
    Note: We do contact these referees with an e-mail reference check letter and once they answer our questions and return it back to us we then save this into your file. So when Owners or Captains ask us if we have completed a reference check on you, we can provide this information to them showing you are legit.
  9. Crew Pacific also requires two written references scanned and saved into a JPEG format and no larger than 250kbs in size and saved into a word document.
    Written references: Is a letter from one of your previous employers that gives an outline of your previous employment.
  10. CHEFS AND COOKS - You are required to present a Seven-day menu plan including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Hors doeuvre for up to 12 guests.
  11. Cooks and Chefs If you have a photo portfolio can you please ensure this is in a word document and no larger than 250kbs in size.
  12. All certificates of attainment are to be kept by you. Crew Pacific does not require your certificates you need your certificate details on your resume. When you obtain an interview and the Captain requires them you will then need to provide them to the Captain.

Placement Services Offered for Crew

Captains and Mates

AUSTRALIAN 4 & 5 TICKETS, MCA 4, OOW, YACHT MASTER OCEAN AND YACHT MASTER OFFSHORE TICKETS, STCW95/USCG/NCA/DOT licensed and Insurable. Foreign flagged vessels and USL licensed vessels whether it is motor or sail. Must show a copies of recent licenses held.

Engineers

Licensed and fully experienced engineers with many forms of training and experience required. Australian tickets: MED 1, 2, 3 and Class 3 AND MCA tickets MEOL, Y4, Y3, Y2, Y1. Whether it is Motor or Sail, Private or Charter; Must show recent copies of licences held.

Deckhands

Licenced and experienced in varying levels for motor or sail, private or charter. Must show recent copies of tickets held such as: Yacht master offshore, STCW95, Deck rating certificate, Coxswains, speed boat, and tender licence and diving tickets.

Chefs and Cooks

Qualified and experienced chefs and cooks who have worked either on private or charter yachts; Delivery cooks with all forms of experience.

Chefs and cooks are required to attach a seven day menu, of breakfast, lunches, dinners, desserts and Hors d’oeuvre. Photos of food presentation are recommended. If you are sending photos through to Crew Pacific ensure these are saved in a JPEG format and no larger then 25-50kbs in size.

Copies of current culinary tickets and Maritime tickets must be shown such as a STCW95 ticket, speed boat and tender license.

Stewardess and Steward

Must have experience on private/charter yachts, or hold hospitality certificates in restaurant, bar and housekeeping service areas, recent copies of STCW95 ticket either MCA or AMSA endorsed. Or having some sort of boating background is a bonus.

Butlers & Flight Attendants

Must have experience in either private villas and on private jets. Need to present your resume as requested above.

Note the Following Pointers

  • All crew — if you hold a STCW95 ticket you must ensure you state whether it is either MCA OR AMSA ENDOROSED;
  • If you hold a medical ticket you need to ensure you state whether it is either MCA or AMSA endorsed and how long it is valid for?
  • B1/B2 visa — you must state validation date.


The Way Crew Pacific Works

  • Once Crew Pacific has your resume file in place with: Resume, referee checks, and written references we then proceed to send you positions we have available and feel are suited to you, the candidate.
  • Crew Pacific will send you positions via e-mail. You are to reply back via e-mail with your interest, availability and current location.
  • Once we obtain the above information, Crew Pacific will submit your details to the Captain or Owner. If the client is interested in you, Crew Pacific will contact you via e-mail or phone with the Captains/Owners name as well as the name of the yacht and interviewing details.
  • If you are accepted by the Captain or Owner after an interview, either the yacht or Crew Pacific will inform you that you have secured the position.
  • Once you start on the yacht, the yacht has a 6 week probation period with you. If you should not work out the yacht does not pay Crew Pacific the one month placement fee.
